My first knitting adventure was my red and black fingerless gloves (here)

I had fun with these I knitted them on straight needles, I had actually initially intended to make a scarf but I thought fingerless gloves would be look better with the striping pattern. It's the first pair of fingerless gloves I ever made actually and it didn't turn out badly, they fit and hey look pretty good for a first attempt if I do say so myself.

There's a picture of them under the Ravelry link but that doesn't work unless you have a Ravelry account. Here's a picture of one of the gloves finished. I didn't actually use a pattern for this one I just knit it flat and decreased by a stitch or two (I think it might have been 3) for the thumb hole and then sewed them up with the leftover yarn.
